After a selection process which has lasted over 12 months, the Great Britain women’s team pursuit squad will now progress forward with four riders up until next year’s Olympic Games.

Having recently had the opportunity to view all the riders in a competitive environment at the European Championships in Apeldoorn, Holland and the UCI Track World Cup in Cali, Columbia, it has been decided that Wendy Houvenaghel, Dani King, Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell will continue to train towards competing in the event at London 2012.

Sarah Storey will now concentrate on selection for the Paralympic Games which begin on the 29 August 2012.

Storey said: "I have always said that London 2012 is about riding as many events as I am good enough for and so now it is important for me to concentrate on the other events I have at the Games."

"Selection for the Paralympic Games will be made on 20 June, so my priorities don't really change a great deal as I have to concentrate on trying to get selected for and defend the two gold medals I won in Beijing."
