Southern Sportive are celebrating their closed road Wight Riviera Sportive on 20 May with a great offer to clubs.
Enter a group of ten or more and get a 10% group discount, plus, if you notify Southern Sportive of your club entry, they’ll list your club on the event’s club call page. Participating clubs will also get to lead out the mass start on the 25km, closed road Avant loop.
Martin Harrison from organisers the Cycle Events Organisation says: "The Wight Riviera is generating a lot of interest, thanks to the road closure for the event, and the innovative new format. We started getting enquiries from clubs who wanted to ride the event as club presence, so we thought it was a great idea to put together a package.
“Cycling clubs are at the heart of our sport, so this is a great opportunity to give them a showcase, leading out the mass start on Yarmouth Harbour front and out onto the closed roads of the course."
The Wight Riviera Sportive is the first south of England cyclosportive to feature a major road closure. Special deals from Isle of Wight ferry providers Red Funnel Ferries and Wightlink, will mean riders can cross as foot passengers for just £6.50 return, or with a vehicle for less than £10 per person return (based on one car and six passengers travelling on off peak crossings).
