Registration Process

As the event organiser, you are required to have the correct level of insurance cover for the number of expected riders on the day of your event. Equally, as the insurance provider, British Cycling are required to have accurate records of the participants entering British Cycling registered events to ensure the correct level of insurance is in place.

Therefore, the updated process when registering events with British Cycling will be simplified as follows:

Upon registration: organisers must state and pay for the estimated number of riders for their event. Past event numbers may be considered as an indicator where there is any uncertainty.

5 days prior to their event: organisers are to notify British Cycling of the number of entries to date and settle any outstanding fees. An accurate insurance certificate will then be issued to organisers pre-event.

Within 7 days of event completion: organisers must confirm final entry numbers with British Cycling and settle any outstanding fees, or claim any refunds.

This will help to provide a best practice for you as an event organiser and British Cycling as your insurance partner.

If you require any further information please email sportive@britishcycling.org.uk or ring 0161 274 2008.
