Liam Killeen is down on the start list for the opening round of the British XC Series, which takes place next Sunday at Sherwood Pines, Nottingham. It's Killeen's first race of 2010 and the first news we've had of the British Champion and Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist since winter.

Late last year when it was rumoured Killeen would not race for the forseeable future due to back injury, British Cycling Mountain Bike Coach Phil Dixon revealed that Killeen would race in 2010.

His appearance on the start list for the opening round of the British XC Series is the first confirmation that Killeen will race in 2010. The only detail missing from the start-sheet is Killeen's team. Currently riding as unattached we will have to wait until race day to see what bike and kit the British Champion will don.
