About online club subscriptions

Overview

The British Cycling Club Management Tool allows cycling clubs which are affiliated to British Cycling to collect their club subscription fees online via the British Cycling website. The system also allows for the purchase of League Subscriptions - in the case of Leagues please read the below substituting the word league(s) for the word club(s)

Features

British Cycling's online club subscription system offers ease of use, secure payment and total convenience;

  • The system is integrated into British Cycling's online club profiles and club finder
  • Minimal admin fee for riders using the system
  • Buy subscriptions for individuals, couples and families.
  • Automated confirmation emails for riders and clubs
  • Secure payment platform to process payments

How it works

Subscription payments taken through British Cycling’s online system are electronically passed to the club. The club can choose whether to automatically accept subscription or whether they want to approve and individually accept subscriptions. Either way, once your subscription is accepted, your card is debited and you will receive a confirmation email.

You will pay a £1.00 application fee per subscription purchased. The fee is non-refundable and enables British Cycling to remain cost neutral in providing the most cost effective online club subscription collection service on the market.

What happens to my subscription fees when I use the online club subscription payment service?

Back to FAQs

Please note that payment of a club subscription is not a guarantee of club membership, as some clubs will review each individual subscription application before deciding whether to accept them. If your application is accepted by the club you will be charged the full subscription fee.

For some clubs, acceptance of a subscription may happen some days or weeks after the initial purchase. You are advised to have sufficient funds available on your payment card to account for this.

If your application is rejected by the club you will not be charged any subscription fees. The initial £1.00 fee paid at the point of application, however, remains non-refundable.

What happens if I my application is accepted but then my card payment fails?

You will still be accepted as a club member. However, you and the club secretary will each receive an email explaining that the system was unable to collect your subscription fee. In the event this happens (e.g. if your payment card has expired between you initially purchasing the subscription and being accepted), it becomes your responsibility to pay the club directly in an alternative way (e.g. by cheque, PayPal, cash on the day etc).

If I leave my club, will I get a refund of my subscription fee?

Back to FAQs

Clubs operate a club-specific policy. All requests for refunds of club subscription fees should be directed to the club who will advise you of the process.

When will I get my refund?

You will get an email saying that your refund is being processed via the online clubs system; please note that it can take up to a 7 working days for the refund to appear in your account. Who is responsible for club memberships?

Back to FAQs

Once a club subscription is purchased and accepted, responsibility for providing the club membership to the rider rests with the club itself. If you purchase a British Cycling membership while taking out a club membership, your British Cycling membership card will be issued to you separately from your club membership.

All correspondence and enquiries about the club, your club subscription and club membership should be directed to the club.
