Disability Talent Development Coach - Scottish Cycling
£20,000 - £25,000 + Car
Scottish Cycling has undergone a major organisational restructure over the last 2-3 year period. A major emphasis of this process has been on putting in place a clear performance pathway from playground to podium. Scottish Cycling is seeking a Disability Talent Development Coach to support the delivery of Cycling's performance targets for Glasgow 2014. This programme will operate as a pathway into the Great Britain World Class Performance Programme and will aim to develop and achieve success by delivering high quality coaching opportunities.
The success of Scottish Paralympic athletes in Beijing has acted as a catalyst to develop a pathway programme which will ensure Scotland continues to support the development of athletes capable of performing on the World Stage. The Disability Talent Development Programme will increase the strength and depth of disability cycling and will identify new talent across all Paralympic and Commonwealth disciplines of cycling.
Supported by the Performance Manager the Disability Talent Coach will deliver high quality athlete coaching support and will implement an effective talent identification programme aimed at achieving Scottish Cycling's performance targets in 2014.
This is an extremely exciting opportunity within Scottish Cycling at a time when the sport is forging forward. To be equipped for such a challenging role you must be capable of coaching to the highest level within a complex environment and be able to demonstrate sound leadership qualities. You will have knowledge and experience of developing talent identification and established athletes with a disability to a national level. Fundamental to this role within the Scottish Governing Body is effective communication and you will excel in motivating and supporting staff, athletes and volunteers and engaging with key stakeholders.
This is a full time post of 37.5 hours per week to be worked flexibly and to include evenings, weekends and periods outside the UK.
This post will be subject to an enhanced disclosure.
