Cumbernauld Centurions BMX Racing Club

Cumbernauld Centurions BMX Racing Club has been going from strength to strength in recent years, having evolved significantly from a handful of members to a thriving club of over sixty, from ages five to forty five, riding and competing successfully both locally and UK wide.

There are some very interesting times ahead too as the club are currently awaiting the grand opening of their new home track, the first international standard BMX facility in Scotland and one of the best in the UK!

The Centurions have been working hard alongside North Lanarkshire Council in securing this superb new facility and cannot wait to get their first roll round the track which promises to be amazing!

Clark & Kent Contractors, who are currently working flat out on the £420k project, are the same company who built the Perry Park track in Birmingham, which has hosted British and European BMX Championships, and the London 2012 Olympic venue!

It is hoped that the new track, located behind Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld, will attract similar top class races which will make for a wonderful spectacle and undoubtedly provide a boost to the cycling community in Scotland.

Although the track will be of an international standard it is also designed so that riders of all ages and abilities can enjoy this wonderful new facility.
