This weekend will see riders from all over Scotland compete in one of, if not, the longest continually running road races in Scotland, The Drummond Trophy.

The 85 mile race, now in its 59th year, will run on the Drumclog circuit situated around the picturesque historic market town of Strathaven. Despite last year’s winner Dan Barry be on the start list to defend his title, the  field of 70 riders is extremely strong, with Evan Oliphant (Team Raleigh), David Lines (Starley Primal Pro Cycling), Ben Greenwood (Leslie Bike Shop/Bikers Boutique), not to mention Dean Dowling, Russell Dowling and James McCallum (all NFTO) all lining up for the start.

Conditions for the race on Sunday are looking good but expect it to be chilly, with potential for a strong head/tailwind around parts of the course. Expect a thrilling days racing!
