Primary Club: Breast Cancer Care Cycle Team

Biography

I started road cycling in 2009 after being selected for the Gold4Glasgow programme. This was talent ID programme to fast track cyclists to compete at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014. 2010 was my first full season of racing on the road and I could not have asked for a better start to my cycling career. I gained results needed to qualify for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi that year. In 2011 I took time off from my full time job over the summer to concentrate on racing in Europe and as a result improved on my racing skills and results. In 2012 I joined Team Ibis Cycles, a women’s UCI team and became a full time cyclist with the aim of basing myself in Europe and racing a full European race programme. Unfortunately my season came to an end rather abruptly due to crashing in a race where I broke 2 vertebrae in my neck. I am now back to racing in 2013 and have joined Breast Cancer Care Cycle Team and will be racing in the UK and Europe with the goal on qualifying for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014.
