 Rider Profile

Name: Taylor Johnston

Primary Club: Cycling Team Tomacc

Biography

I Started racing when I was 13, mainly Mountain biking and Cyclo-cross, achieving consistent top 10’s and podiums at National level each year, with the highlight being a Junior cyclo-cross win at National level and 3rd overall in the Series. I then switched my focus to road racing when I became an under 23, and still compete in the occasional cyclo-cross race in the winter for training. In 2012, I spent 3 months away racing in the Basque Country for Ibaigane Opel. Riding against ex pros and the best amateur riders in Spain on a weekly basis definitely brought me on and I learnt a huge amount. In 2013 I will be racing in Belgium for Cycling Team Tomacc, and will be based in Poperinge. I hope to build on my experience gained last year with results on the continent this year.

Who inspires you and why

Bike riders who achieve through hard work and determination. I also find Riders like Jens Voigt, Alberto Contador and Joaquim Rodriguez really inspirational, the way they attack and instigate races gives me so much motivation when racing.
