Forza Cycles’ Vincent Thomas took victory in the Gloucester City Summer Road race, crossing the line four seconds ahead of David Palmer in second place.

The 41-year-old Bridgend rider worked hard with 20 miles to go, opening up a slight gap on his rivals.

Early on in the race, four riders made a break off the front of the main group but it was eventually pulled back in.

However, the top four did manage to keep a gap of 15 seconds and Vincent pushed on with the end approaching to take first place.
