Road: Howells wins first ELV Series race

Hackney’s Rhys Howell (Twenty 3C-Orbea) secured victory in the first race of the East London Velo Six Days of Winter Series, staged at the Redbridge Cycling Centre in Essex on Saturday.

The 25-year-old took the win ahead of Stevenage-based 32-year-old Richard Da Silva (Pro Cycle Hire UK), while 22-year-old Josh Lawless (Aprire Bicycles) completed the podium in third spot.

Over in the race for third and fourth category riders, Stuart Clapp (Vicious Velo) took the win, the 35-year-old from nearby Leigh on Sea holding off London veteran Antonious Wubben (unattached) while Joel Lewis (Arbis-Colbert Cycles) took third.
