Chelmer CC’s Matt Haworth clinched victory in the third round of the Ford CC Go Race Summer Series staged at Dunton Technical Centre in Essex.

46 riders made the start line for the event, despite a crane becoming lodged under a bridge causing major congestion on the local roads. The threatening rain never materialised, but the strong westerly wind made it difficult for anyone who dropped off the pack.

The first prime after five laps was taken by Wayne Tyson ( Ford CC), the second after seven laps by Tim Wood (Chelmer CC).

With the absence of series leader Dan Babbs, the bunch stayed together on the final lap and Matt Haworth (Chelmer CC) took the win from Stuart Thomas (5DCC) and Mick Bath (API).

The next race takes place on 14th June at 19:00, signing on from 18:00.
