British Cycling's technical regulations take their lead from those of the world governing body, the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale).

The UCI have now restarted their widescale testing of disc brakes in the professional peloton as they monitor the situation with a view to permitting their use at all levels of the sport. However while that testing phase runs, the existing rules remain in place, namely that disc brakes are banned in all domestic road and closed circuit racing.

British Cycling is not is a position to change those regulations until permitted to do so by the UCI.
