The Halfords Tour Series invites Felt Colbournes Team, Team Herbalife Wheelbase, Team Corley Cycles and Team Qoroz as guest teams.

The calendar of eight televised city centre cycle races is action-packed, bringing the thrills, and spills, of professional cycling up close to thousands of spectators at every venue. With emphasis on teams rather than individual riders, ten top British teams battle it out for the coveted Halfords Tour Series title.

Beginning on Tuesday 24th May, the races are every Tuesday and Thursday throughout May and June, with events taking place at Durham, Aberystwyth, Peterborough, Colchester, Stoke-on-Trent, Oldham, Woking and Canary Wharf.

Following the high-quality of applications to race in the 2011 Series, the four teams who didn't make the final ten for The Halfords Tour Series will each receive the opportunity to ride as a non-scoring guest team for part of this year's Series to aid the development of the teams and the sport of professional cycle racing in the UK.

South West Team Qoroz, run by the South West Bike Academy will be the first of the four teams to take part in this year's Series as they make their bow at the Series' first ever Welsh round in Aberystwyth on Thursday 26th May.

Milton Keynes based Team Corley Cycles, who have ridden in each of the first two seasons of The Halfords Tour Series will return to the competition for the Peterborough and Colchester rounds on Tuesday 31st May and Thursday 2nd June.

Team Herbalife Wheelbase will make their Series debuts at Round Five in Stoke-on-Trent, as they tackle the Staffordshire round on Tuesday 7th June and the Greater Manchester event at Oldham on Thursday 9th June.

Final debutants the Felt Colbournes Team will compete in the final week of the 2011 season, taking on the rounds at Woking, on Tuesday 14th June, and Canary Wharf, on Thursday 16th June.

The four guest teams will join the ten teams who are taking part in the entire 2011 Series, which includes reigning champions Motorpoint as well as perennial challengers Endura Racing and Rapha Condor Sharp.

The Halfords Tour Series kicks off at Durham on Tuesday 24th May, with highlights on ITV4 the following evening, Wednesday 25th May, at 20:00. For more information visit: www.tourseries.co.uk
