Leisure: Glasgow to Falkirk Wheel

Summary: Explore the natural and historical sights of the 250 year old Forth-Clyde canal. The route is on towpaths of the Forth-Clyde canal, so the path is easy, wide and flat, but could get busy at times with other cyclists and pedestrians.
Essential Information: Join the route via the Possil Marsh Nature Reserve to avoid a busy road crossing. Car parking is possible at Skirsa Court, off Skirsa Street, first left after Lambhill Bridge heading north on the A879. There are restaurants and cafes around the Maryhill Locks area. Leaving Glasgow, you pass golf courses and then get to The Stables pub which serves food all day.
The Falkirk Wheel is the spectacular centrepiece of the £84.5 million ‘Millennium Link' and the UK's largest canal restoration project. There is a restaurant, shop and visitor centre on site.
