Where to Ride

Great places to ride, great rides, great writing and great landscapes. Looking for some inspiration, a possible holiday venue, or just somewhere to ride this weekend? Have a look at our regional guides and we're sure you'll find inspiration amongst the great rides we've written up for you!

Scotland  North West 
   
A world renowned MTB destination with trails for every kind of rider, plus road and leisure routes galore, Scotland is a true haven for anyone who loves their cycling. There's some great on and off road riding in the North West from the Trough of Bowland in Lancashire to rugged off road trails in the Lake District.
       
North East  Yorkshire 
   
Rugged coastlines and sweeping moorland offer a whole world of opportunities to two wheeled travellers in the North East. With the Dales, the Moors, the Ridings and the Pennines, Yorkshire has a huge range of topography and a huge range of riding options. 
       
Wales  West Midlands 
   
Best known for its profusion of mountain biking centres, Wales has so much more to offer including iconic road rides and a well developed network of traffic free trails. From post-industrial routes to green and rolling countryside, the West Midlands is a region of contrasts. 
       
East Midlands  East 
       
Wild and rugged in the north, with flatter going in the south, the East Midlands has every kind of riding on the menu and is close to many of the UK's major population centres, making it an ideal escape for many.  From fenland, broadland and forests in Norfolk to Suffolk heathlands and dramatic coasts, East Anglia has it all... 
       
Central  South 
       
For the cyclist, the heart of England is supplied by a rich network of traffic free trails, towpath treats and quiet roads to explore.  From Gloucestershire in the north to Dorset on the coast, the South region is a real haven for cycling. 
       
South West  South East 
       
The timeless scenery of Dartmoor and Exmoor, the sweeping beaches of the north and craggy coastlines of the south provide stunning vistas and breathtaking climbs.  The South East is blessed with more leisure routes than any other region, with forest rides, canal towpaths and traffic free trails for the whole family to enjoy.

Places: There are many cycling facilities around the country, from velodromes to cycle speedway tracks, trail centres and road circuits - many offer coaching or training sessions: Find Venues

Young People: If you're under-16 and new to the sport, you could try Go-Ride Racing, or one of our holiday coaching sessions
