Where to Ride: South West

The timeless scenery of Dartmoor and Exmoor, the sweeping beaches of the north and craggy coastlines of the south provide stunning vistas and breathtaking climbs. Cornwall's Camel Trail is perhaps the jewel in the crown of the region's traffic free trails, while Haldon Forest near Exeter is the perfect place to discover mountain biking.

Cornwall is blessed with perhaps the best loved traffic free trail in the country, The Camel Trail, which runs from Padstow to Wadebridge along the route of an old railway line. The Camel Trail is but one of a wealth of trails in Cornwall that explore the county's natural beauty and industrial heritage. For further information on routes in Cornwall go here

Devon's Haldon Forest is a great place to take the family for an introduction to mountain biking, while road riders are well served by some challenging riding on Exmoor or Dartmoor. The Tarka Trail, running from Broughton, via Barnstaple, to Meeth is perhaps the county's most loved traffic free trail. For further information on routes in Devon, go here
