Three sets of kilo time trials started the evening - the final one ending the opening trio in style with a British pairing setting another world record - McGlynn and Hunter dipping below the minute and ten second margin. Earlier Michael Teuber and Pierre Senska wrapped up a German one-two in the mens LC4 class. In the LC3 class it was Masaki Fujita who took the win. Tobias Graf edged Camelo Sanchez into third by just 0.058.

Morning Session

The morning session on day two of the paracycling World Championships saw multiple qualifiers and two gold medals and two world records for the British team, with more opportunities to follow in the evening session.

With consistent times throughout, Schuble remains clear favourite for the 3000m race, with only a disaster separating her and a gold medal.

Reaching the finals in style, Sarah Story set a new world record in the qualifiers - and with more expected in the finals a sub 3.30 minute time would surely round off the session perfectly.

Two finals in the morning session and both with the same outcome; gold for Britain. This time Jody Cundy, just two weeks previous competing in the National Championships, set a new world record and distanced every other rider.

Britain's Mark Bristow delivered the first gold medal of Saturday's competition for the host nation. Bristow led throughout the race and nobody looked to troble his time from start to finish.

Completing the lineup in both finals, Spain will be looking to go away with the full compliment of two medals - and they've every chance of doing just that. In fact, they were unfortunate to only qualify one team to the final, the top three positions separated by less then half a second.

In the 4km Pursuit qualifiers, Michele Pittacolo blew the field away, being the only rider to go under the five minute barrier - surely a great target to set for a new world record.

Following last nights hard-fought gold medal in the kilo time trial, Darren Kenny was back on track for another medal today, qualifying first by over three seconds ahead of Rik Waddon - the same man who gave Kenny all sorts of problems in the aforementioned final.
