Great Britain pilot, Dave Readle, along with blind athlete Simon Jackson, power their way round the track to a Silver medal in the Men's BV1 kilometre time trial to make it a 1-2 for Great Britain

A familiar face in the Men's BV1 kilometre where sighted tandem pilots power and steer the tandem with a blind (or semi blind) athlete on the back. Spain had former able bodied World Cup and World Championship sprinter Jose Antonio Villanueva on the front of their tandem and they won a bronze medal behind the two British pairings.
Male CP3 1km Time Trial

Multi Paralympic champion and hour record holder for his category, Darren Kenny, racing to a World Title after a tight tussle with his GB teammate Waddon with Kenny managing to claw his way into the lead on the final lap after being slower on the first three of the four laps.
More precious metal for GB riders, as Mssrs. Kenny and Waddon scoop Gold and Silver in the Kilo. The GB pairing were both head and shoulders above the opposition, both posting 1.11 times with Rik running the legendary Darren Kenny mighty close. Spain's Juan Emilio Gutierrez was a distant bronze medallist, 5 seconds back on Waddon.

Getting the toe straps tight around the shoe is a key part of the process of locking a rider into the start gate. Only one rider during the day pulled his foot on starting although there were several broken chains!

The evening's proceedings started with a nation flag ceremony with athletes from each joining a select group of children in a lap of the track.
