Birmingham will host the UCI BMX World Championships in 2012. The event is to be held at the National Indoor Arena,, one of the busiest, large scale indoor sporting and entertainment venues in the UK, on 24 - 27 May. This event will offer BMX enthusiasts the last chance to see the world's best riders in action before they compete in the London Olympics in August.

Following on from the recent Investiture Ceremony which saw seven members of British Cycling receive their Honours at Buckingham Palace, British Cycling's Executive Director Peter King has been made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in the Queen's Birthday Honours, whilst fellow British Cycling member and former National Manager of the Paralympic Team Tony Yorke receives an OBE.
