New major youth MTB XC event "Little Dog" at Stanmer Park, Brighton 14th August

Tom Goldsmith of VC Jubilee came up with the idea of speaking to Brighton Big Dog organisers to get a youth mountain bike cycling event running as part of the main event, and calling it Little Dog. His idea was well received and now the Brighton Big Dog race will be supported by the Little Dog race for young people. They were very keen to work with VC Jubilee specifically because of our reputation, visibility in the area, and due to the success of our previous events for Cyclo Cross at Stanmer Park. Supporting the event will be some young volunteers, which is great to ensure the sport can continue through the efforts of others.

Race entries for the Little Dog race are now open - Little Dog youth MTB races on 14th August 2010 at Stanmer Park from 9am-11am. This will be running just before the prestigious and infamous Brighton Big Dog MTB event.

Scroll down a bit to see the Little Dog info, and select ENTER RACE on left hand side, make sure you pick your right age and girl/boy category. Also for those who are older than Juniors and missed the Big Dog entry as it filled so quick - they are doing a special one lap - OneDerDog, see the info on the same page. We hope to run this event in a similar vain to the adult Big Dog, but rather than racing as a team-relay hopefully we'll have a team prize for those in the same age category doing the best time of three riders. But its mainly about individuals and their times - there should be some good prizes to come too, see website for more information. You can also buy cycle shirts, t-shirts, mugs etc

So please get in touch if you can help with any of the event's roles such as judging, marshalling, coordinating, and recording results. VC Jubilee is also working hard to provide some prizes for the races so donations and support is also welcome to recognize the achievements of participating riders. So please could you let me know if you can help out on the day, it would be much appreciated, and will do the club a great honour to be recognised as putting on a great high standard event as this.
