An outstanding Elite Men's race, dominated by the world's leading riders, thrilled a huge crowd at the Dalby World Cup. Double Olympic and multiple World Champion Julien Absalon was in the thick of the action, but it was current Under-23 and Senior World Champions, Burry Stander and Nino Schurter, who really animated the race.

Overnight rain and an early morning chill in the air were soon forgotten as the Elite Women's race warmed things up with American Willow Koerber and reigning world champion Irina Kalentieva dominating proceedings as the Dalby World Cup moved into its final day.

British Cycling Development rider Steve James produced a crowd-pleasing performance under the sun at Dalby, delighting local supporters and delivering a podium position on the opening day of racing in the Forest. The 2010 Welsh Mountain Bike Championships took place on the 27th June, Fforest Fields, Builth Wells. John Lloyd Racing events promoted the event in glorious sunshine and with large fields in attendance the racing action was fast and furious. Lee Williams and many other champions from 2009 managed to defend their titles and pull on the coveted Champion System backed jersey for 2010.

Crowds stormed Pickering on the opening evening of the Dalby World Cup to witness the inaugural running of the Pro Sprint Eliminator - essentially fourcross on cross country bikes. On a night when the spectacle was taken to the people, Thomas Litscher and Eva Lechner escaped £1000 richer, while the local crowds discovered what the words ‘mountain bike' really meant.

On Friday 23 April in Pickering town centre, British Cycling and its partners will host the opening of the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup weekend with an evening of racing and free entertainment in the heart of North Yorkshire.

This 30km event will feature challenging sections of the new Dalby MTB World Cup course including Medusa's Drop, Worry Gill and Dixon's Hollow, before breaking out of the World Cup course and continuing onto other red and black Dalby trails - Enter Now!
