British Cycling provides a range of support for all event promoters and organisers. Below are a small range of downloads designed to assist organisers. More information and advice is also available direct at mtb@britishcycling.org.uk
British Cycling's Regional Event Officer Network
British Cycling's Regional Event Officers are focused on increasing the quality and quantity of participation opportunities in Road, Track, Cyclo Cross, Mountain Biking BMX and Cycle Speedway. Please feel free to contact the Events Officer in your Region if you are an event organiser, official, volunteer or club and you need help in the following areas:

Insurance Guidelines for MTB Events: Before taking out insurance for mountain bike events, organisers must ensure they can comply to the regulations stipulated within the British Cycling rulebook. To ensure organisers have a preview in to what is required, the following document outlines the basic requirements and points you in the right direction to find out more detailed information (pdf): Download
Risk Assessment Form: This form is to be filled in and displayed at all events run to British Cycling guidelines. Please call 0161 274 2022 for advice if required: (Word download) Download
Insurance Guidelines for events using transportation (uplift): The use of transportation in mountain bike events has guidelines developed by the Forestry Commission and British Cycling. Event Registration Form: All events must be registered with British Cycling at least one month before the event and longer if you wish to advertise and promote your event on the British Cycling website. Please fill all areas in full, as the more information you give, the more we can pass on to the riders. The following costs are applicable:
Mountain Bike Uplift Day: £60 per 100 riders.
Mountain Bike Race: £20 per day of competition and practice.

Event Levy Form: Mountain Bike races have an insurance levy that should be paid within 2 weeks of the event finishing. The rate is £1.50 per rider for a non-ranking event series. For one-off events and ranking series events, it is £1.50 for competitors aged 16 and below and £3.00 for competitors aged 17 and older. (106kb Word file) Download
Standard Event Entry Form: This is a standard entry form suitable for Cross-Country, Downhill and Four Cross and can be printed out or filled in using Microsoft Word. Download (100kb Word file)
Commissaires Paperwork
Commissaires Report Form: This form must be completed and returned to the MTB events coordinator at BC HQ after each event: Download
Penalty Form: This form should be completed in duplicate when ever disciplinary action is taken against a rider/carer or team manager at an event. One copy should be handed to the offender and the other to BC HQ which will further distribute as appropriate. Any fines collected on the day must be sent to BC HQ with this form: Download
Incident Report Form: It is critical that when ever a serious incident occurs to a third party that this form is completed and immediately forwarded to BC HQ. This will ensure that the BC Staff are in a position to react quickly should any claim against British Cycling be made: Download
