Andy began cycling when he was 14 years old when he joined a local club with his friends. Four years later he was accepted onto British Cycling’s Olympic Academy Programme and in the same year he became Junior World Champion in the Individual Pursuit and European Champion in the Team Pursuit. Andy has since played an integral role in the GB Team Pursuit squad, both at U23 and elite level.

As well as his success on the Velodrome boards, Andy is also a big name on the domestic road race scene where he rides for Rapha Condor Sharp for the 2011 season. In previous years, he has won the prestigious Tour of the Reservoir and was part of the winning team at the Tour Series in 2009 with Halfords-Bikehut and in 2010 with Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta.
