About Pete:

As an outstanding junior on the British Cycling Olympic Academy Programme, Pete enjoyed many successes on the track, competing in the endurance disciplines. As well as his junior World title in the Scratch, he was also the European champion in the Team Pursuit in both 2006 and 2007.

2009 saw Pete step up to the Olympic Podium Programme, where his coaches have focused on his training for the Madison event. Pete teamed up first with former world champions Rob Hayles for World Cup events, and then in February 2009 Pete partnered fellow Manxman Mark Christian to take the British Madison champion title, before the pairing competed for GB at the Senior World Championships – Pete’s debut at this level. A big crash for Pete prevented them winning a medal and Pete also just missed out on a medal in the Team Pursuit, when a young GB quartet finished 4th.

Kennuagh is also recognised as a genuine talent on the road and many see parallels in his style with Mark Cavendish. In his first year on the road in Italy as a senior, he won two major under 23 races to add to an already impressive palmares.
