About Jonny:
Jonny Bellis is nephew to the Isle of Man’s National Coach Mike Doyle and is another talented export from the Manx Island.
A fine all-round sportsman in his youth, Jonny turned down the opportunity to join the England rugby squad in favour of taking up a place on British Cycling’s Talent Team. Jonny’s ability on a bike was obvious and by the time he was a second year junior he had won a Silver medal in the Points race at World level, and progressed to two Golds at European U23 level in 2007, doing the business in the Team Pursuit and Scratch Race.
Also a talented rider on the road, with a world under-23 bronze medal to his credit, Jonny signed a professional contract with CSC-Saxo Bank in 2008, which will see him riding ProTour events with the team that won the Tour de France in 2008.
