This years edition of the legendary Guildford Town Centre Races hosted by Charlotteville Cycling Club returns on 13th July 2022.  Held on a short and fast circuit which takes in the historic cobbled High Street, a sweeping descent of North Street and back up the paved Market Street.  All of this is set against the stunning backdrop of the Surrey Hills. Don't be fooled by the short circuit length - you will be on the limit from the start and you need great skills for the fast and technical corners.

The evening commences with a series of Youth races sponsored by Hamptons.  For 2022 the youth races are also the final qualifying round for the inaugural British Cycling Regional Youth Circuit Series 2022.

The youth races are followed by the Local Heroes 3rd Cat races sponsored by Motion.

Next up is the Women's National B Elite/1/2/3 race sponsored by Parcours.

The evening finishes with the Men's National B Elite/1/2 race sponsored by Sigma Sports.

The circuit is fast and technical and offers one of the few opportunities in the UK to race a town centre criterium with some cobblestones thrown in to add to the excitement.  The races attract a strong field of riders but above all the focus is on atmosphere, entertainment and a great evening out with friends and family.

Come early, bring your friends and family, watch the youth races as well as the senior races, have dinner in the nearby restaurants and cafes and enjoy our historic Town Centre.

Info for Riders

We were fortunate to be able to host the 2021 edition of the races shortly after lock down ended.  This year we hope that there are no more lock downs, but plan to continue some of the measures we introduced from last year including discouraging competitors congregating at the top end of the High Street as they warm up.  In the past this has caused bottlenecks on the pavements for spectators, riders and residents.  All warming up must be done away from the circuit, or in designated areas at the lower end of the closed off High Street.  

We will have registration and sign on, warm up and timing chip installation and removal all outside and will continue with sensible hygiene controls.

We are very fortunate to have the support of Guildford Borough Council and we want to make sure that we showcase cycling as a considerate as well as exciting sport.

Important Note for Entries:

• All entries must be on line using the BC system - there will be no entry on the line on the day.
• The event is often oversubscribed and it is at the organisers discretion who is accepted to race.  The circuit is very technical and rider results on the BC system will be taken into account when accepting/rejecting riders.

• Refunds are at the discretion of the Event Organiser and will not include any applicable BC online fees for entries or refunds.
