Event Overview

The Rides.

There are three scenic rides.

The Family route is 9 mile and rides along the side of the Wrekin on quiet lanes and B roads.

The Extended Family route is 24 miles and for the older families and novice riders alike, and while looping around the Wrekin you will be riding past the Roman ruins of Wroxeter.

The Wrekin Giant is 80 mile, but a very testing 80 mile that will make the legs sting, with some of the ascents reaching 1500 ft, you will see some of the best scenery Shropshire has to offer. Riding out past The Wrekin and The Lawley, around The Long Mynd up to The Stipperstones then returning back adjacent to The Wenlock Edge and finally around The Wrekin back to HQ. 90% of this ride is on quiet lanes and the rest is on quiet B roads.

There will be a feed stop with cakes and hot drinks to refuel for the return journey. There will be gels etc provided for the ride and extra water stops to fill your bottle(s).

The route will have mechanical support and a broom wagon. 

At Event HQ.


There is free parking available on site and overflow parking adjacent.

There will be activities for families throughout the day.

Refreshments and toilets will be available all day, bar refreshments will be available from mid day.

Riders will automatically be entered into rider number raffles.

About the Event

Info for Riders

There is free parking available on site and overflow parking adjacent. Signing on will be open from 7.30 am. First riders will be away from 8.30 am - 9.30 am. Family rides will be away from 10 am - 11 am. Helmets are compulsory for safety and insurance purposes. Children under 16 years have to be accompanied by an adult and children under 18 need written consent from a parent or guardian. Remember that this is not a race and that the roads are not closed so you need to ride to the highway code, never ride more than two abreast and single out on the very narrow lanes and please look out for each others safety.
