Event Overview

The York Rally Grand Classique Sportive is being run by a now independent York Rally committee and any profit from the Sportive will be used as seed money for running next year's York Rally.

We have chosen 3 courses heading out north of York

  • a 36k for the younger      and more inexperienced riders
  • a 100k and a 140k which follow the well tried and tested routes of the Ron Kit  Challenge rides. These go into the Howardian hills and North York moors.      The 140k includes the famous Rosedale Chimney.

About the Event

Info for Riders

36k ride is flat and designed primarily for families and those wanting a gentle ride. The ride will be well-signed with marshals at any difficult junctions. There will be appropriate feeding stations en route and a sag wagon will be available on call but a broom wagon will run the course at the end of the event. 100k ride is flat for the first 10k and then starts to climb becoming more challenging. Travelling through spectacular scenery this route is designed for those who want a challenge but don't feel fit enough for the longest ride. Again feeding stations will be available en route with a proper tea stop provided. Sag wagon and broom wagon as 36k ride. 140k ride follows the route for the 100k before it branches off to include more challenging climbs including the famous Rosedale Chimney. Again feeding stations will be available en route with a proper tea stop provided. Sag wagon and broom wagon as 36k ride.
