Event Overview

Cycle Wiltshire Sportives

The 2014 Cycle Wiltshire Sportives will take place over 3 routes:

100 miles – Long Route – 5604 feet climbing

64 miles – Medium Route – 3238 feet climbing

20 miles – Short Route – 1013 feet climbing

Event HQ – Five Rivers Leisure Centre, Salisbury

Cycle Wiltshire, delivered by Wiltshire Council working with British Cycling, is a fantastic two-day event comprising the Cycle Wiltshire Sportive, which features three mass participation rides taking place on Saturday 3rd May 2014.  As well as the mass participation event the Cycle Wiltshire Grand Prix, British Cycling’s National Series Elite Road Race, is taking place in Wilton on Sunday 4th May, 2014.  The event will not only bring some of the country’s best cyclists to the area, including a number of potential Olympic and Paralympic stars, but also provide participation opportunities for local residents.

The roads used for the Cycle Wiltshire Sportive are quiet, offer stunning views of the Wiltshire countryside with some tough climbs, without the event being a complete "suffer fest" of climbing.

Wiltshire is a truly beautiful county and people are encouraged to make the most of this special weekend. People can participate in the Sportive, and then enjoy the excitement and adrenaline rush of the Cycle Wiltshire Grand Prix in Wilton the following day. Wiltshire has so much to offer, and while in the county, people should take time to visit other historic and fascinating sites.
