National Cyclo-Cross Rankings Explained

This is a guide to how the British Cycling Cyclo-Cross Rankings work.

1. Rankings are produced for the following categories: Senior Open (Men) - Women - Veteran Men - Junior Men - Youth. From September 2011 the Veteran Men category will be split into Veteran 40-49 and Veteran 50+ categories, and the Youth into seperate boys and girls categories.
2. All rankings start from zero at the beginning of the cyclo-cross season.
3. Qualifying events are those which take place between 1st September and the end of February.
4. The Senior Open rankings include any junior or veteran male rider who gains overall points in races open to Seniors.
5. The Youth boys and girls, Veteran Men 40-49 and 50+, Junior Men and Women's rankings are discrete categories.
6. The Women 's rankings include junior and veteran women.
7. Events may be upgraded, downgraded, added or removed at the discretion of the Cyclo-Cross Commission. Events run on a handicap basis do not qualify for ranking points.
8. Only BC full licence holders will qualify for points, but if non-qualifying riders finish in points scoring positions the schedule will not be adjusted as a result.

The points allocations for all categories to be used for the 2011-2012 season are as follows:
