With the World Masters Championships being staged in USA for the second successive season, the European Cycling Union has announced the staging of a European Championships in December.

The Championships take place in Barletta, Italy over the weekend of Friday 7 to Sunday 9 December 2012.  Barletta is 60 km north west of Bari, in the heel of Italy; there are daily flights to Bari from London Stansted via Ryanair.

Further details can be found on the event website http://eventi.ciclieurobike.com, where it possible to register online.  Entry can also be made via e-mail to team@ciclieurobike.com; include name, date of birth, nation and UCI code.

At the moment it looks like the highest age band for men is 55+, although this may change depending on entries.  There are five year bands for men from 30 to 55; for women they are advertising only 30-39 and 40+ at the moment.

British Cycling understands that entry fee payment is requested in advance via BACS (there is no on-line payment, just registration).  We will try and find out if they will take payment on the day, but otherwise please contact cyclo-cross@britishcycling.org.uk for bank details.
