Surrey League Beginners races at Hillingdon (West London)

At the first of three Surrey League Beginners races held on behalf of the Surrey League by London Dynamo at Hillingdon on February 21st, we had 53 riders turn up. We had the riders do 2 x 5 lap warm-up 'training' rides split into groups of 9ish with a 'trainer' along with each group. We then split the whole group into odds and evens with a 10 lap race each half a lap apart. The best riders were then put together for a 'Final' and the others rode an optional 'Minor Final' over 10 laps that nearly all of them rode.

NEXT ROUND...

The Surrey League's beginner's races continue over the next two Saturday's (February 28th & March 6th) at Hillingdon, all starting at 13:30. These races are aimed at beginners (4th category men and 3rd and 4th category women) and 4th category riders who would like to know how to improve. Entry fee will be £10 per day and £5 extra for insurance if you are not a BCF member.

IMPORTANT: You do not have to be a member of the BCF or the Surrey League to take part.

Please feel free to bring as many of your friends as you like. We will have a coach on hand and some experienced riders to give advice. Depending on numbers, the plan for the days are to have two five mile races with coaches and experienced riders mixed in with you to give advice whilst you are racing. There will then be a 20 mile race on your own. The coaches and experienced riders will be on hand at the finish to answer any questions.
