present the

39th PERFS PEDAL RACE

Sunday; 8th February 2004

With a team launch tomorrow, Julian Winn presented his sponsors, Pinarello (Yellow Ltd) with the perfect season opener as he won the Perfs Pedal classic organised by Mick Waite of Waite Contracts.

Winn, fresh from riding the the pro Tour of Majorca for Great Britain, obviously had good form after that five day event and simply rode away from the rest and although he never gained a huge gap, he spent three quarters of the race on his own out in the strong winds. Behind, the chase was never really organised as riders kept attacking to try and bridge on their own but at the finish, no-one was going to deny Winn with Paul Shepard making it a 1-2 for Wales.
