Twickenham CC/Evans Cycles Ottershaw Series Road Race Sunday, 26th October 2003, 105km, Kitsmead Lane Circuit The second round of the Ottershaw Series organised by Doug Collins and the Twickenham CC was held today with yet another small field of only 31 riders turning up in good weather for a 105km race around the Kitsmead circuit. According to Doug, Paul Holdsworth started the moves getting away with Rob Enslin, Mick McManus and Ashley Holding. These four soon managed to etch out a good lead until the pace of Holdsworth and Enslin became too much for McManus and Holding who dropped back to be picked up by two chasers, Lewis Atkins and Lee Day. The leaders carried on and towards the end, Enslin got away from Holdsworth to win by 20 seconds and all but wrap up the three race series. In second was Holdsworth with Atkins showing yet again what a bright talent he is to finish 3rd. Next week is the final round, 11.30 at Brook Hall for a race on the Valley End circuit. After the race, the presentation will be made to the prize winners in the series. RESULT (© British Cycling) 1. Rob Enslin VC Prestige.com 105km 2.17
