This Sunday I travelled down to Calshot near Southampton for the first time to have a look at what I believe was the countries first indoor velodrome. We will soon have a fact sheet including pictures of the indoor veloddrome that seems to be the countries best kept secret. My thanks to Sue and Tim Knight for their help. Here are the results from Sue and we'll have a gallery of pictures later this week. For those interested in learning more, Calshot holds training sessions at least twice a week and Sue and Tim are at Calshot from 12.30 onwards every Sunday afternoon between now and Sunday the 1st of February. The times the schedule differs to this is Sunday 16th November (British Cycling National Council) and as for Xmas, dates as yet have not been announced.

Race meeting starts at 13.30 and run until between 3.30 to 4.30 depending on how many riders they have. The afternoon’s programme consists of Sprints, Distance Races, Points, unknowns for the seniors along with handicaps included for the youths. They tend to have a standard programme that gets mixed and matched as to how many riders turn up as we can only have a small amount of riders on the track at any one time.
