A British Cycling Premier Calendar Event; Sunday 30th March, 2003; Buckinghamshire, UK, (RESULTS) (PREVIEW)

On Sunday the 30th of March, cycling fans in the UK were blessed with a bright sunny day to witness yet another epic race around the lanes of Buckinghamshire. With an international field comprising a national champion (Julian Winn) and a World champion (Chris Newton) as well as last years Premier Calendar winner John Tanner, along with a former winner of the Points jersey in the Tour of Spain, Malcom Elliot, it was sure to be a great race. To celebrate, in the first of a number of photographic tributes to the race, here is an 'epic' story board of the race, with photographs showing how the race developed over the near 5 hours it took for the winner to cross the line in Winchmore Hill.

PHOTOCALL NUMBER 1

In amongst doing lots of interviews, I managed to grab some snaps (left to right) of Julian Winn (Team Fakta--UK National Road Race Champion), World Silver Medalist in the Scratch Race 2002 Tony Gibb (PCA Orbea) and Silver medalist from the Commonwealth Game, Huw Pritchard (Wales, AngliaSport).

Stop number 1 just outside Hazelmere and the compact group climbs the first of many hills for the day.
