| CYCLING NEWS CENTRE | RESULTS CENTRE | PHOTOS | INTERVIEWS | CLASSIFIEDS | Milton Keynes Bowl; Saturday 29th March 2003 (Thanks to Tony Asplin for results) Winner of the opening round of the WCRA Ladies Handicap Series at the Milton Keynes Bowl on Saturday was Kelly Grant (Team Milton Keynes) - riding her first ever race. 37 riders, across the age and experience range, started in four groups around the Bowl (the normal circuit was unusable due to construction work) and produced some excellent racing. Using the handicapping system to her full advantage Grant held onto the scratch group as they attempted to claw back some of their 4 lap deficit. The only scratch rider to make any real inroads into the handicap was Grant's team-mate, elite tri-athlete Vicky Pincombe, who finished a very creditable second with another newcomer Rachel Rowan (Rugby RCC) in a fine third place.
