Stonefield Cycles Newcastle under Lyme Track League,

26th June 2003

Schoolboy Adam Kenway, Leek CC on being allowed to compete in the final event of the the night, the 10 mile H'cap produced the ride of the season to win by 1 lap. He started the race three quarters of a lap up on the A Class riders. After 4laps of the race he attacked the B class riders and soloed across the gap to join the A Class riders. He then stayed with the group as they caught everyone in front of them. Despite numerous attacks from James Notley, VC St Raphael Adam held on to win the race.

Earlier in the night he had won 3 Schoolboy events to move closer to league leader Andrew Magnier. Another good performance came from 10 year old Kian Emadi, Newcastle RC 2001 who held on to his advantage in the 1 Lap H'cap to take a well deserved win. In the Senior events, Tony Brooks took over the A Class league lead due to the abscence of Ben Elliott. James Notley scored highly on the night and is rapidly moving up the league tableThere was also a change of leader in the B Class League with top points scorer for the night Chris Hayes, taking over top spot. The closest finish of the night was in the B Sprint with only a tyres width separating Phil Underwood and a fast improving Brian Entwistle.
