Hayes & Hawks Winter BMX Series Round 6, Tuesday; 28th. January 2003; Week 2Of 12 In First League 2003 Venue: Hayes BMX Track. Around 40 riders came and battled at Round 6 of the Hayes
and Hawks Winter I would say that 75% of the riders were novices again, with most of them only starting racing at the beginning of this series, back in October. The new rider numbers have increased little by little every race and they keep coming back for more. We must be doing something right ?? Also we keep seeing more older riders coming along and
getting back into BMX The Hawkers brothers from Dunstable came and paid a visit
and rode excellently, both Michael and Robert got a 1st, think they will
be back. The Hayes locals did themselves proud once again with Tyler Bowcobme
11 Novice and Travis Bowcombe 13 Novice coming first, but a mention has
to go to Luke Cool 13 Novice in his first bmx race proper in giving Travis
a run for his money. Craig Beck from Egham got the 3rd. Another Hayes
local, Rikki Long also kept his winning streak going with a win in 10
Novice and is now leading his age group. The kids on the British Cycling World Class Talent Team from Hertfordshire will be taking part in our next race at Hayes on the 23rd Feb, where they will be hosting a BMX Camp with top Ex BMX'er and current MTB'er Scott Beaumont coming down to coach and help out along with fellow MTB'er Helen Mortimer, who is keen to have a go at BMX...Your bike awaits Helen !!..
