12 World Champions Line-up for Series 3 Opener
Revolution 9 Event Overview

International Male Sprint Competition GB v Dutch Revenge
Season 3 of the Revolution Series will kick off with an epic confrontation between the two top track cycling nations in the world at the moment -- Great Britain and Holland. Revenge will be on the cards as Great Britain go head to head with the formidable Dutch team with both nations looking to settle scores from the World Championships earlier in the year.

In LA back in March it was the Dutch who made the first blow as Theo Bos scraped home against two Olympic Champions from Britain in Chris Hoy (Athens, 3rd) and Jason Queally (Sydney, 2nd) to take the Kilo title. This must have fired up the Brits as they took revenge in the Team Sprint over-powering the Dutch in the final.

However, the last word came from Teun Mulder who took the honours in the Keirin getting the better of last year's World Champion, Jamie Staff. It was clear that as a team, the Brits were the strongest but one-on-one, the young Dutch riders showed that they are a force to be reckoned with. Both nations will be taking the racing very seriously at Revolution 9 looking to set the marker for the season ahead and prove their dominance.

SheCycles.com Womens International Sprint Omnium
Great Britain and Holland once again go head to head in the SheCycles.com womens sprint omnium. World Sprint Champion Victoria Pendleton will lead the way for Great Britain. She will be joined by Anna Blyth who proved she is a star of the future by winning a silver and bronze at the Junior World Championships earlier this year. They will take on Willy Kanis who came 4th in the 500 Time Trial at the World Championships and is the reigning world BMX Champion and Yvonne Hijgennar who placed one higher at the Worlds coming in 3rd in the 500 TT.

They will fight it out across a series of sprint events gaining points in each round. The competition decider will come in a two up Team Sprint where GB and Holland will clash to decide the overall winner of the competition. The action will be tense as every point is crucial. Pendleton, Blyth, Hijgennar and Kanis... Four riders and only one winner.

Endurance Racing
More World Champions line up in the Endurance racing where there will be plenty of action as youth will challenge experience to prove who will be the best of British. After an immensely successful year in the under 23 Academy, Mark Cavendish, Ed Clancy and Geraint Thomas will be taking on experienced World Champions Rob Hayles, Chris Newton and Paul Manning looking to make an early impact at the start of the season.

Last years top Future Stars riders have also graduated to the elite racing so watch out for last years winner Steven Burke, runner up and Junior World Champion Andy Tennant, third placed Adam Blythe and Matt Rowe.

2004 Paris-Roubaix winner and top road rider Magnus Backstedt will add an international element to the Endurance racing. Magnus is in training for an attempt on the Derney paced hour record which means he will be well prepared to take on the British World Champions.

Raleigh Future Stars
Raleigh, one of the UKs best known bike manufacturers has cemented their commitment to youth development in sport by sponsoring the Revolution Future Stars. The Future Stars competition has always provided some of the very best racing at Revolution with last year's competition coming down to the wire between Steven Burke and Andy Tennant.

Since then Tennant has gone on to become the Junior Individual Pursuit World Champion. He will this year graduate to the elite racing along with last seasons winner Steven Burke and third placed Adam Blythe. This leaves the door open for the new emerging talent to make their mark and gain valuable experience in front of the Revolution audience. Raleighs involvement has ensured that the Future Stars will continue to grow with competitions now in place for both the girls and boys.

How the Future Stars Competition Works
At each round of this seasons Revolution series, points will be awarded to the first 12 finishers in each of the following future stars races: Devil Endurance - 1 Mile Dash - 5km Scratch Race

At the end of each Revolution meeting the rider with the largest number of points will be awarded the Raleigh Future Stars Series Leaders Jersey which they will wear at the next Revolution. If the points are tied, the rider who finished ahead in the final Scratch Race will take the leaders jersey. At the end of the Series the rider with the most points will be crowned the Raleigh Future Stars Champion. During each Revolution we will keep you up to date on the leaders points and there will be a section on the website where you can follow the competition.
