Millar in Fine Form after Vuelta Stage Win

Great Britain's David Millar who rides for the top French pro team Cofidis has repeated his feat of winning a road stage in the Tour of Spain. After several podium placings this year in major road races as well as a great victory in a Time Trial stage of the Tour de France, Millar triumped on stage 17 of the Tour de France to win by more than 30 seconds.

Showing yet again that he has the ability to climb and race well in bunch races, his win is his third in this Grand Tour and is confirmation that with the World Championships only a few weeks away in early October, that Millar's form is coming along nicely and that it won't only be in the Time Trial that he is one of the pre-race favourites.

Speaking to Spanish television he said "I planned to be in good shape for the last week of the Vuelta, but I'm better than I expected. My big objective for the year are the World Championships. I love racing here and for me it has been an ideal opportunity to get some good racing and to prepare for the worlds."

Speaking on his website, www.itsmillartime.com, (Click Here), David explained that "The pace was so fast I was worried for a while but I felt pretty strong. On the road into Cordoba I thought that I was all over the place but I was far enough ahead."
