Scottish Provident Youth League Presentation

The prize presentation ceremony for the 2003 Scottish Provident Youth League was held at Summerland last Saturday night in front of a large crowd of around 700 people.

Manx motorcycle trials ace Steve Colley presented the numerous awards assisted by Lillian Boyle from Scottish Provident and the Isle of Man's minister of tourism David Cretney.

The prestigious Alex Forrest memorial trophy for the most improved rider of the year went to Mark Christian, who received a special prize to commemorate the occasion.

During the evening several fund raising activities collected over �1000 towards the cost of replacing the nine bikes and a van that were stolen while some members of Team Scottish Provident Isle of Man were on a recent racing trip to Manchester.

An all-time record of 502 youngsters took part in this year's league, with an average of 213 competing in each of the sixteen rounds.
