Team endurasport.com-Principia sign 22 year old David Clarke

Team endurasport.com-Principia have recently signed 22 year old David Clarke to race with the team for the remainder of the season. His debut was in the recent Vuelta Llcida under 26 stage race in Spain, where he gained a 17th place in the final stage and finished 42nd overall.

He has since ridden in the GP Carnaghese and the Giro d'Oro in Italy and the GP Ruddervoorde in Belgium. David has now returned for the National Championships this coming weekend, where he will be riding with teammates Alex Coutts, Daniel Lloyd, John Ibbotson, Neil Colemand and Greg Sandy. His other new team mates David McCann and Alessandro Guerra and Corrado Serina will be riding in their own national championships.

David raced in France last season as an amateur with the famous ACBB team from Paris. This season supported by the Dave Rayner fund he joined a Spanish first division amateur team where he gained some good early season results including a win and a couple of second places. He is a very good climber and has a very positive & attacking racing style.

At the Girvan Stage race in Scotland this year he gained an excellent second place to Mark Lovett on stage three. But for a puncture and broken wheel on the final stage he would have finished in the top five overall. David brings the team roster to 14 riders. Ten from the UK and includes seven riders under 25 emphasing the teams desire to bring on and develop young talented UK riders.

After the Nationals, David returns to the team base near Varese, Italy to compete in two major races next weekend , the Criterium d/Abruzzo (UCI 1.3) and the Trofeo Matteotti (UCI 1.2).
