BRITISH JUNIOR ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIPS

SUNDAY 27 JULY 2003;

While the Under 23 riders battle out a national championship in Buckinghamshire, the under 19 Juniors head to Scotland for their National Road Race Championship promoted by the Perth United Cycling Club. The race, over 65 miles (5 laps of a 13 mile circuit) will see a small but class field battle for the right to wear the champions jersey for the next 12 months. Favourites include National Series leader Tim Wallis, and the winner of the last round, Bruce Edgar with Matt Brammeier rounding out the three riders who are expected to fight out the top placings. Dark horses include Geraint Thomas, Carl Dyson and Mark Cavendish.

The race starts at 10.00am in JAMES SQUARE CRIEFF with the finish in BURRELL street CRIEFF. Headquarters for the race is the CRIEFF CRICKET/RUGBY CLUB. The race starts in James Square - right to A85 Comrie Street, continue to Comrie; Left at Dalginross, left at South Crieff Rd, left at Bridgend Caravan Park to finish Burrell Street on final lap (total 5 laps). All riders are reminded to observe the rules of the road and the follow the Highway Code in respect of road racing and to follow Police instructions at all times. The award ceremony will be held immediately after the event at the Crieff Cricket & Rugby Club � riders are requested to stay for presentation. Refreshments at HQ following event. Juniors are reminded of their gear restricted to Max 7.93 mtrs.
