Recycling.co.uk Road Race League

Although the races for E/1/2 are a little undersubscribed, the new Recycling.co.uk Road Race League is proving very popular with riders in the North West Division and beyond. Riders wishing to enter the League events should obtain a Registration Form and a dedicated Race Entry Form from the Cycling Development North West website.

Registration forms should be sent to the Secretary, Bill Greenhalgh, who will issue a League number. The entries are then sent to Ivor Armstrong, who sorts them and posts the rider list on the website on the Monday before each race. All the information required, including a list of events and courses, is available on the site at the following address:

Riders from Affiliated Clubs get preference up until the three week closing date; entries are then added from any registered riders. If you see from the rider list that spaces are available, then entries on the line will be accepted on a first come first served basis. Races run right into October and the organising committee are already looking at the calendar for dates to include in 2004.

Many thanks to Keith Butler and his colleagues of the Surrey League for their assistance and lets hope that this is one way of reversing the decline of cycle racing on the road.
