NATIONAL JUNIOR TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS
| NEWS CENTRE| RESULTS | PHOTOS | INTERVIEWS | FREE CLASSIFIEDS |

The National Cycling Centre; Manchester; 24th 27th April 2003

Once again it is National Championship time, and the Junior Track Championships are upon us. In the splendid setting of the National Cycling Centre, the stars of tomorrow will race around the hallowed boards that have seen so many great medal-winning and world record performances.

The Manchester Velodrome has now hosted two World Track Championships, and a Commonwealth Games, not to mention numerous National Championships and of course the World Masters Championships on so many occasions.

Each of these events has produced memories for both the spectators and the competitors memories that they will cherish for years to come. I hope that this will also be true for those taking part in the National Junior Track Championships in 2003. Not everyone will win a medal, but everyone can take back great memories of their races, of how they performed and of how the occasion felt for them.

So my message to the young riders taking part is this; conduct yourselves well, do your best, have pride in yourself and respect for your opponents, and enjoy yourselves. Then you too will have memories that will last a lifetime of the great time you had at these championships.

Best wishes; Brian Cookson; President, British Cycling
